What is SEPA?
All you need to know about SEPA
SEPA stands for the Single Euro Payments Area. All bank payments and transfers in this zone are treated as local bank transfers.
The SEPA system allows for seamless payments in euros across 36 countries. You can read more about which countries take part in the SEPA system below.
The SEPA Zone
The SEPA zone is larger than the Euro zone.
The SEPA zone comprises 36 countries and overseas territories of former European colonial powers including crown dependencies in as far away places as the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. A majority of them are members of the European Union but some are also part of the European Economic Area (EEA) and some are non-members.
19 EU countries that use the euro as their national currency
8 EU countries whose national currencies are not the euro
3 countries who are members of the European Economic Area (EEA)
6 non-EEA countries • 4 territories of European countries
10+ territories and crown dependencies

SEPA FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign up for a SEPA account if my company is not registered in Europe?
It is possible to open an account with Narvi and get a SEPA IBAN account even if your company is registered outside of Europe. You can check our country guide to see if we are able to onboard your company. It should be noted that opening accounts from outside of Europe may require additional time to verify your documents.
Can I receive payments from outside of Europe to my SEPA IBAN account?
Luckily, Narvi's IBANs are not only connected to the SEPA system but also to the SWIFT Network so you can send and receive funds from all over the world. you can find more information about this on our SWIFT euro IBAN page. It should be noted that euro payments from countries that are not in the SEPA country list will be sent via the SWIFT network and are not SEPA payments.
Can I have more than one SEPA IBAN?
You can request additional IBANs under the same company name or open up separate accounts if you have multiple companies and businesses. You can access all your accounts from your dashboard via the dropdown menu at the top.
